In-Place Machining Company Acquires HydroPoint

Strategic Acquisition Expands Hydropower Asset Refurbishment and Field Service Capabilities

June 2026 | Milwaukee, WI – In-Place Machine Company, LLC (IPM), a leading provider of precision machining, dimensional metrology, alignment, and specialty field services for critical industries, today announced the acquisition of HydroPoint, a respected provider of hydropower asset refurbishment, rehabilitation, and field services supporting hydroelectric facilities across North America.

The acquisition strengthens IPM’s position within the hydropower sector and expands its ability to support utilities and power generation customers responsible for maintaining, modernizing, and extending the life of critical energy infrastructure. By combining HydroPoint’s deep hydropower expertise with the diverse capabilities available across the IPM family of companies, customers will benefit from expanded resources, enhanced technical support, and increased access to specialized services for maintenance, modernization, and outage-related projects.

Hydropower remains a vital component of North America’s energy infrastructure, with facility owners continuing to invest in reliability improvements, asset life extension, and renovation initiatives. HydroPoint has earned a strong reputation for helping customers meet these challenges through specialized expertise in turbine and generator rehabilitation, asset refurbishment, field machining, field welding, outage support, and technical consulting services tailored specifically to the hydropower industry.

“HydroPoint has built an outstanding reputation throughout the hydropower industry by helping customers solve complex challenges and successfully execute critical projects,” said Dean Flint, CEO and Chairman of In-Place Machining Company. “What impressed us most was the experience of their team, the strength of their customer relationships, and their commitment to delivering exceptional service. Their high-stakes expertise complements our existing capabilities and further strengthens our ability to support hydroelectric facilities with the specialized services they need to improve reliability, extend equipment life, and maintain critical power generation assets.”

HydroPoint will continue operating with the same commitment to safety, quality, responsiveness, and customer support that has defined the company throughout its history while gaining access to the expanded resources, technical expertise, and broad service network of In-Place Machining Company.

Through IPM’s family of companies, HydroPoint customers will also gain access to additional high-stakes expertise in field machining, machine shop services, specialty repairs, dimensional metrology, precision alignment, and instrument calibration, creating expanded opportunities to support the full lifecycle of critical hydropower assets – from inspection and assessment through repair, refurbishment, installation, and long-term maintenance.

” Joining In-Place Machining Company represents an exciting next chapter for HydroPoint,” said Jonas Batten, President of HydroPoint. “From our earliest conversations, it was clear that our organizations share similar values, a commitment to technical excellence and delivering exceptional customer service, and a strong belief in investing in our people. Becoming part of IPM gives us access to additional resources, engineering support, and complementary capabilities that will allow us to better serve our customers while continuing to provide the specialized expertise they have come to expect from HydroPoint. ”

The acquisition reflects IPM’s ongoing strategy of investing in specialized expertise that supports critical infrastructure and essential industries. By combining HydroPoint’s deep hydropower knowledge with the capabilities available across the IPM family of companies, customers will benefit from increased support throughout the lifecycle of critical power generation assets.

Together, IPM and HydroPoint will provide hydroelectric customers with access to experienced field service professionals, industry-specific expertise, and the resources needed to successfully execute projects where reliability, performance, and operational continuity matter most.
